Our philosophy has always been to design and communicate in a manner appropriate to each client’s requirements. To that end, we believe that good communication can only be arrived at if a consultancy takes time – and understands how – to know the client and project. This demands an understanding of the culture of that organisation and of the market in which they operate.

For Shaw, the most important stage of any project is the brief, and we are committed, on all projects, to developing and defining the brief in conjunction with the client. So, we complement our design expertise with a strategic capability created by a team of project managers who have client backgrounds in key areas of Scottish business life – for example, the public sector, leisure and tourism, and food and drink.

This, we believe, adds a constructive input even before design work takes place. It also forms a basis of a rigorous business approach on behalf of the client to our design and project management.
